Where would I get a Recipe Book that would help me in making American Recipes?
I totally agree with abuela Nany about allrecipes.com it is a terrific site. It is better than almost any other site out there because of the ratings, extensive reviews and details provided by other home cooks who have tried the recipes.
However, if you did want a “book” then try Good Housekeeping‘s Illustrated Cookbook. It’s so cool because all the recipes are pictured in the front, so you know exactly what you’re cooking and what it looks like when it is done. Right next to the picture it tells you how long it takes to cook it too. So you can look through the pictures and choose what you want to make… It’s my All Time favorite cookbook, mostly American and all the recipes I’ve tried in it have turned out well.
