24 hours in the Slow Cooker?
Hi.
I’m making a chicken casserole in the slow cooker, but i wanted to start it tonight as I don’t have time to prepare it in the morning. I have browned the chicken thighs and added that with all other ingredients (including stock and wine) to the slow cooker. I’ve started it on high, which I’ll leave till I go to bed, and then will reduce to low to leave while I go out to work in the morning. I’m worried about the 24 hours on low though, as it’s chicken I’m cooking – even though It will be on high for a couple of hours first.
Do you think it will be safe to eat tomorrow evening?
honestly…turn it off and let it cool, then add to the fridge till morning. Then insert the crock and turn it on. This will be a big mess tomorrow if you try to cook for 24 hours
