I especially like Jello cookbooks, as I am too young to remember a world where you can bring a tuna, celery mold lemon gelatin to dinner. I love alignment 1950 * * Ethnic food and lively cartoons that accompanied them (you know, a Chinese man with a hat to go with "Ah-So Easy" noodles, or a gentleman with a hat to go with "10-Minute Tamale Pie"). Please tell me your memories of mid-century kitchen. What fabulous obsolete dishes make eating your memory or service?

I remember lime Jello with shredded carrots. Jello cake was served with Ice Cream instead of birthdays. My aunt was married to a wonderful Greek immigrant in 1930. I loved going to the birthday at home. It was their tradition of placing coins in the cake batter and bake the cake. He would Nickles dimes and quarters on the cake. So when I ate the cake that we had to be careful not to swallow the money. Not in our life that we swallow money. I'm talking about since 1940. Wow, what a bunch of products to buy for a nickel.
