It’s Latin, from Psalm 127
1. Unless the LORD (A)builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the LORD (B)guards the city,
The watchman keeps awake in vain.
Actually, it seems to be a misquote of part (B) of the first verse, with ‘house’ instead of ‘city’.
