Oscar Wilde once said of his fellow Englishmen: "They know the price of everything and the value of nothing." How this characterization apply to persons held by " Weber Spirit of Capitalism. "
Well .. is how I see it .. The price is something that is paid in money or things measurable. The value is something that goes beyond quantification. It's not just what you pay for it physically (in terms of money or quatyfyable things), but involves an emotional and psychological impact. Y the value of the same thing may vary from person to person. The price of a tattered rag doll and old might not even be a few cents. But for a girl she loves, and plays with it Every Day, there may not be anything more "valuable" to the doll. Weber defines the spirit of capitalism as the ideas and habits that favor the rational pursuit of economic gain. When it comes to pure economic benefits, there is no value in question. A person possessed by the spirit "Capitalism" refers only to the benefits of every situation, and blind to other considerations. In addition, emotions and values have nothing to do with the rationale. So I think someone possessed by the spirit of capitalism know the price of everything and at the same time, close your eyes to its value.
