I went to a meeting of World ORT today and only heard about the Holocaust. Is this normal?

I was asked by a friend to attend a meeting World ORT education type (Jewish organization). http://www.ort.org/asp/default.asp for 2 hours all I heard was the Holocaust and the stories of Cookbook of the Holocaust who were selling as a fundraiser. Not once was mentioned that no one died, except Jews, and it was emphasized. It is now almost 65 years after the Holocaust. Is this ever going to be put to rest as it should reverendly – O – not the stories continue, simply to keep open wounds. Personally, I was taken back that there was no mention of the 5,000,000 non-Jews.

The "Holocaust" refers specifically to the systematic, bureaucratic, state-sponsored persecution and murder of at least six million Jews by the Nazis and their collaborators. It is true that millions of other people were victims of Nazi atrocities, but the term "Holocaust" was not coined to describe the crimes committed against them. This is not to underestimate or undervalue the horror of what other peoples experience. It is true that the "Holocaust" has become increasingly blurred in meaning in recent years. However, I attribute in part to a lack of historical understanding, in part due to political correctness (some are uncomfortable with what they feel is the exclusion or detriment not possible suffering of Jews during the war) and partly the result of anti-Jewish/anti-Israel activism that seeks to keep claims of Jewish victims are exaggerated.
